What is Reiki?
Healing Reiki Energy

The History of Reiki as such is not changing but the information we have about Reiki and its founder, Mikao Usui is constantly moving forward. Thanks to the work of Reiki Masters like Frank Arjava Petter, William Lee Rand and others, we get more complete and factual information about Reiki.
“Hands on Healing” has been around for many centuries and has been known in many cultures. When you read about Reiki in books or on the internet, you will find several different theories about where Reiki came from. What we do know is that Reiki was “rediscovered” in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui during the beginning of the 20th century. For us westerners, there are 3 people that play a vital role in the history of Reiki: Dr. Mikao Usui, Dr. Hayashi and Mrs. Hawayo Takata.
It was thought for many years that the practice of Reiki had died out in Japan but now new information about Reiki in Japan is coming to light.

Reiki relaxes and de-stresses...
as a flow of subtle Energy promotes healing on all levels. Reiki can be used to treat people, animals, plants and, generally, for situational Energy balancing and Earth healing. Reiki Energy is drawn by intent (both conscious and unconscious intent) through the Reiki practitioner. Reiki always heals for the best and highest good. Utilizing this unique system, the practitioner and recipient are healed simultaneously. Reiki will flow automatically when a practitioner’s hands are placed on a person needing healing.
Reiki has been used ...
for healing all types of conditions and ailments. Many clients have experienced accelerated healing when combining Reiki with traditional allopathic and/or alternative medicine. Since Reiki works individually to the underlying need of the client and comes from a Higher Intelligence, results are always healing. Chemotherapy and radiation patients who have received Reiki have noticed a marked decrease in side effects from treatment. Reiki does not work to an agenda of the practitioner or client. It works according to a level of higher awareness and higher consciousness. Reiki has been responsible for dramatic healings.
How does Reiki Heal?
A Reiki practitioner “passes” energy through to where the person has blocks and then directs the healing energy. By flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy, Reiki raises the vibratory level in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away.
Who Can Benefit from Reiki?
Reiki is both powerful and gentle. In it’s long history of use it has aided in healing virtually every known illness and injury. It is always beneficial and works to improve the effectiveness of all other types of therapy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance and has many benefits for both client and practitioner, including positive states of consciousness and spiritual experiences. Reiki works in harmony with all other kinds of treatment.
