“I experienced painful numbing in my arms and especially in my hands during my pregnancies. My friend Barbara offered to help me out and we had a few Reiki sessions in the office. Even though I was carrying 40 pounds of baby weight I felt as though I would elevate off of the table -I was so relaxed during our sessions. I was able to realize immediate relief from the tingling and felt an all over peacefulness which would last a day or two.
After my baby was born a month early and was healing from a Nemothorax in the NICU at Beth Israel Hospital in NYC, Barbara and Kristin came to the hospital for some Reiki sessions with my baby. My baby was calm during and after their visits and it gave me relief to think that my son was experiencing some of the same positive energy that I had felt. “My Mom was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2005...
Fast forward to today. Treatment is ongoing, Complications makes it difficult to stay focused on the positive. However, the vomiting is investigated medically twice but never controlled. The annoying act of vomiting has become more than annoying. It has allowed doubt to step in. To enter the mind of a person with the will to fight and win, to feel the mountain to high. What else can be done? Medically there are options but the odds are 50/50 at best. Not something any of us are willing to address. If only the vomiting would stop. She could deal with the rest. The vomiting daily keeps her a prisoner, it can happen any time, any where, it can happen only once, it could happen 5 - 6- 7- times. The vomiting was never a side effect of treatment. It is hard enough to lose your hair and cover up under an interesting hat, but it is so obvious when you need to vomit.
Then I found Barbara. I sent a photo and gave her the scenerio of the last 14 months. She promises to send distance Reiki during
Mom's resting times. Barbara worked her game and Mom came out the winner. So far, 33 days later, and for the last 33 days, she has not vomited once. Thank you Barbara. Now Mom can fight the other battles, the smaller battles, that only come as a side effect. She can handle that.
